Herbst Marketing recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Sandra Brannock, a professional kitchen designer in Northern Virginia and owner of Expert Kitchen Designs, in developing a new WordPress website for her growing business.
Sandra has been designing beautiful kitchens for homeowners in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC for many years. In the fall of 2012, Sandra decided that her existing website (below) was not adequately showcasing her professional skills and her kitchen remodeling portfolio. Sandra retained Herbst Marketing to create a new website for Expert Kitchen Designs.

Before commencing work on Sandra’s new website, Yvonne interviewed Sandra about her goals and vision for her new website. Together, they looked at other kitchen design websites to help Sandra clarify her preferred color schemes, home page layouts, and overall design preferences.
Yvonne also educated Sandra about the essential elements her website needed to be an effective marketing and sales tool for her business, including:
- Phone number and contact information in the header, so prospects could immediately determine how to contact Sandra without having to hunt through the website to find this information,
- Examples of Sandra’s kitchen remodeling projects attractively and efficiently displayed on the home page through a series of rotating images,
- Sandra’s social media links prominently displayed near the top of the website make it fast and easy for website visitors to locate Sandra’s Facebook, LinkedIn,and Pinterest accounts, for further research into Sandra’s portfolio and services,
- A free report offer designed to help Sandra capture email addresses for prospects who are in the research phase and not yet ready to request a consultation,
- Built-in blog, with engaging blog topics and links displayed on the home page,
- A sampling of customer testimonials is also displayed on the home page, offering more social proof of Sandra’s professional experience and capabilities,
- Sandra’s geographic service area is displayed and defined in the footer of her website,
